Privacy Policy

Tilth collects the following categories of data:

• Account data: Email address and encrypted password (stored by Supabase).
• Farm profile: Your name, farm name, region, farm size, crops grown, and planting history.
• Field data: GPS coordinates, field boundaries (polygons), field size, and soil readings you enter.
• Financial data: Input costs, yield estimates, and market price entries you log. We do not access your bank accounts.
• Conversations: Your chat history with the AI agronomist. These are stored to provide continuity across sessions.
• Location data: Approximate location (derived from your field coordinates) used to fetch weather and soil data. We do not track your device location in real time.
• Usage data: Actions completed, features used, pages visited — used to improve the product.

We use your data to:

• Provide personalised agronomic advice through the AI agronomist.
• Fetch weather and soil data relevant to your specific field locations.
• Generate your seasonal schedule and financial projections.
• Remember your farm context across conversations.
• Improve Tilth's advice quality (aggregated, anonymised insights only).

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data.

Tilth uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Supabase — Database and authentication. Your farm data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase is SOC 2 compliant.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — Powers the AI agronomist. Your farm context and conversation messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate advice. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing.
• Mapbox — Powers field mapping. Map interactions are subject to Mapbox's privacy policy.
• Open-Meteo — Weather data. Requests include your field coordinates (latitude/longitude only, no personally identifiable data).
• Vercel — Hosting and deployment. Your requests pass through Vercel's infrastructure.

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data. Use the "Delete my account" option in Settings, or email us.
• Portability: Request your farm data in a machine-readable format (JSON).
• Objection: Object to our use of your data for specific purposes.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@tilth.farm with your account email address. We will respond within 14 days.

Tilth operates in compliance with the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). We are committed to the principles of data protection including lawful processing, purpose limitation, data minimisation, and security.

We collect only the data necessary to provide the Tilth service. We retain data only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law.

If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, you may contact the Data Protection Commission of Ghana at dpcom.gov.gh.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Conversation logs with the AI agronomist are retained for up to 12 months to provide continuity of advice.

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, and row-level security on our database. We do not store passwords in plain text.

Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure. If you suspect a security breach, contact us immediately at security@tilth.farm.
